Pain Management And Relaxation For Back Pain

  • Posted on April 26, 2011 at 3:46 pm

One of the most symptoms people turn up at their doctor’s surgery with is back pain, which can arise from any number of causes. The pain may be experienced as a very sharp uncomfortable stabbing. Or the pain may feel like a constant nag, like a toothache kind of pain. It may be hard to sit or stand for more than a few moments at a time and even finding a comfortable sleeping position at night can become quite a challenge.

Very often you will understand where the pain is coming from or what caused it. It may come about as a result of over-straining when lifting something heavy. It may be due to an injury sustained whilst playing certain sports, such as football or tennis. Maybe it is the result of a car accident or a work related injury. Sometimes the cause of the pain is not always immediately apparent. It may be the result of long term stress or of long periods of inactivity, where the supporting muscles have become weakened over time. Either over using or under using the back muscles could result in pain, which is usually only temporary and may be experienced as stiffness or soreness. This is like a warning that something is wrong and needs to be addressed. With natural treatments like massage and rest  you might notice a natural improvement within a relatively short space of time, especially if you take notice of the warning and start to change what you have been doing.

If the back pain doesn’t go away after a few days with these natural pain remedies or others like herbal products and creams, then you most likely need to seek medical help. You may have a more serious problem that can result in chronic pain if left unattended and may even require surgery. Coping with severe chronic pain which goes on for years requires much research on all of the available conventional and alternative remedies that might be able to help. There are plenty of alternative, natural and gentle non-invasive treatments available.

It is best to think of back pain as a warning sign from the body that somthing needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Bad posture and awkward movements can create problems. It is best not to bend over and pick up your child or a heavy object without first bending your knees, and then lifting. Remember to do some warm up exercises before doing any strenuous exercise. And remember that prevention is better than cure. Regular laughter in your life can make a world of difference and it helps you to relax, boosts health and works as a ntural pain reliever. Coping with emotions and resolving inner conflict can go a long way to relieving backache which may have come about as a result of some unrsolved trauma from the past.
